Archiving and Preservation Policy
VFAST Transactions on Software Engineering (VTSE) is committed to the permanent availability, accessibility, and preservation of its scholarly content. The journal recognizes the importance of protecting the academic record through reliable digital preservation systems and secure archival practices to ensure continued access for researchers, institutions, and the global scholarly community.
PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN)
VTSE participates in the PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN), a preservation service developed by the Public Knowledge Project for journals operating through Open Journal Systems (OJS). PKP PN provides decentralized, long-term digital preservation through distributed archival nodes to safeguard published content against accidental loss, technical failure, or journal discontinuation.
PKP PN Unique Identifier:

Digital Preservation and Backup Infrastructure
All VTSE electronic content, including published articles, manuscripts, journal website files, and supplementary materials, is maintained through a multi-layered digital preservation framework. Journal data is securely stored across multiple independent servers with geographically distributed remote backup systems supported by Continuous Data Protection (CDP) through R1Soft technology. This infrastructure ensures redundancy, minimizes the risk of data loss, and supports timely recovery in the event of technical disruption or server failure.
Abstracting, Indexing, and Metadata Security
In addition to PKP PN preservation, VTSE ensures that article metadata is disseminated through relevant abstracting and indexing services, further supporting discoverability, citation continuity, and scholarly accessibility across multiple platforms.
Preservation Commitment
VTSE currently relies on PKP PN and internal backup systems as its primary digital preservation mechanisms. While the journal does not presently utilize external preservation services such as CLOCKSS or LOCKSS, VTSE remains committed to continuously evaluating and strengthening its archival strategy in accordance with evolving international publishing standards and best practices.
Accessibility in the Event of Journal Discontinuation
Should VTSE cease publication, all reasonable measures will be taken to preserve and maintain access to previously published scholarly content through PKP PN archives, secure backups, and available indexing systems, thereby ensuring the integrity, continuity, and long-term preservation of the scholarly record.
