Allama Ibn Taymyyah’s study of Christianity: An Analysis

Abstract

Ibni Taymyyah was a prominent Muslim scholar and would be remembered as an expert in ILMUL-KALAM. He used flawless and strong arguments to pit Islam against Christianity. Many Christian clergymen authored anti-Islamic publications and pamphlets. They engage in an open dialogue with Muslim scholars. Theologians, Philosopher, and Pops were employing arguments and logics for Christian religion in Damascus and Syria during his time. He was a renowned historian and religious scholar. He began publishing books and pamphlets in response to the popular theologians of their time. In response to the Melkite Bishop of Saida in contemporary Lebanon's short treatise of 24 pages, Ibn Taymiyyah authored the six-volume al-Jawāb al-Ṣaḥīḥ li Man Baddala Dīn al-Masīḥ. A textual examination of al-Jawāb al- Ṣaḥīḥ demonstrates the author's variety as well as the approach he used to rectify the false beliefs held by Christians, Muslim innovators, and hypocrites about God, Trinity, Incarnation, and other topics. The purpose of this article is to introduce Ibn Taymyyah's writings on Christianity to academics and experts.
