Socio-Psychological Impact of Social Media on Adolescents- A Quranic Perspective
Abstract
Allah has created human beings and they have nature of socialization. The process of globalization increased the level of connectivity that used to seem unrealistic few decades back. Social media is one of the most pivotal utilized correspondence media among people and associations across today’s reality,. The benefits presented by social media must be utilized adequately to pass on the message of Islam.. Although many positive aspects of the social media are indubitable but the social media has turned into an overwhelming revolution that swept away the moral values and standards in its manner, and violated all criteria and it became hard to control. Adolescent is a period among childhood and arising adulthood. It is a time of gigantic change, for example psychological, social and biological. Social media has more attraction and inclination for teenagers. Adolescence is a vital and vulnerable stage of development, where teenagers start to frame their own identity, character and create significant connections, but social media can profoundly effect on areas of their development. In this research paper, the socio-psychological area of adolescence’s growth will be focused in connection with social media effects on the same. Social media is the prime reason that teenagers appear to be glued to their phones or computers as a result it has assumed control over a significant part of adolescent’s time. Social media has positive and negative both aspects so there is an utter need to discuss about its all aspects in Quranic Perspective that impact adolescent sociologically and psychologically.
