Islamic Values in Salma Aswan’s Travelogue “Italy Hay Dekhny Ki Cheez"

Abstract

Salma Awan is a famous and important Urdu novelist, travel writer and columnist. Her family migrated from India to Pakistan during the Partition of India. Due to his scholarly and Eastern family affiliation, his writings show a special attachment to the homeland and Islamic values. She seems to reflect the same trend in her travelogues. She felt a strong inspiration to explore the enhancing beauty of northern areas of Pakistan and out of the country and putting their details down in the form of travelogues moreover travelling around the world i.e. Russia, Italy, Iraq, Egypt, sham, etc. Especially in "Italy is a thing to see" she has tried to present the Italian scenario from the same point of view, in which she has been largely successful. This novel is a good example of Urdu literature as well as Islamic literature.
