The Word Lost; It’s Usage and Causes in the Holy Quran; A Research Overview

Abstract

The Holy Quran is the starting point for all kinds of sciences and from very beginning of the revealing to the Holy Quran many chapters of new sciences was opened. Especially, the sciences of the Holy Quran (علوم القرآن)ware given keen attention due to its importance because it defined and sought out several aspects for reformation of life of the this world and hereafter. Like so, it also introduced several new aspects of knowledge relevant to its words, themes, structure, eloquence, morphology, syntax, phonology, dialects and interpretation of word and sentences. One of these aspects is the usage of a word with different meanings according to the context. Like so, the word خُسران (lost) has been used many times in the Holy Quran with different literary and contextual meanings. This article discusses upon the very word with its various meanings and the causes of the lost according to the Holy Quran in a research way. Adding more, the usages of the very word have been discussed firstly, supported by the literary meaning of the very word, the point of view of the different scholars about it, and secondly the causes of lost are deliberated in light of the relevant verse(s) from the Holy Quran. This will open new chapters for the upcoming researchers and will help them in seeking out such kind of specified topics.
