Trend of "Summary of Quran" in Qur’anic Tafseer and Interpretation: Principles and Rules
Abstract
The tendency to "Abstract" in the interpretation of the Qur'an has a clear benefit for the people. The interpretation of Qur'an is summarized from the point of view of ease in understanding the message of the Qur'an because sometimes due to a long subject the mind of the reader shifts to the other side. Sometimes the attention of reader diverts from the main idea or message to a subtopic. Summary of the Qur'an is actually the focal point of a long topic, in which the conclusion and essence of Qur'anic verse/subject presented. The trend of summarizing the Qur'an has come to the fore in modern times. In this regard, several books have been written under the name of "Khalasat-ul-Quran". In these summaries, Qur'anic topics are explained in a concise, simple and easy to understand language. In this article, the methodology and style of these summaries has been reviewed in the commentary of the Holy Qur'an. The benefits, types, and features of summaries are discussed in detail. This is an initial attempt at a topic that discusses the basic aspects of the subject, but there is still room for research on other aspects.
