Abstract

The current study examines the challenges of E-learning for undergraduate students of English in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. This study employed a mixed-method research design that utilizes both quantitative and qualitative methods. Data were collected from undergraduate students of English through questionnaires and interviews. The SPSS Version 29 was used to analyze quantitative data. Qualitative data were analyzed through thematic analysis. The results revealed that weak internet connection, financial issues, lack of concentration, lack of guidance, and lack of technological skills were the main challenges faced by undergraduate English Language students in Pakistan. In addition to it, results suggested the need for organizing proper training for both teachers and students, provision of up-to-date technology tools to all students, better internet service provision and timely and detailed feedback from teacher’s side to improve the quality of online learning. Moreover, it is also suggested that instructors should work on to improve student interaction and participation in online classes.
