Islam, being a universal code of life was revealed by Almighty Allah on his last messenger and beloved prophet (S.A.W) for the guidance of the entire humanity after presenting the Holy religion, a very sacred group complying with it was given the prestige of a Sahaba. The word Sahabi with its plural Sahaba or Ashab is an Arabic word literally meaning “a companion of the Holy Prophet (S.A.W). The sacred group stood by the Holy Prophet (S.A.W) in every thick and thin besides rendering heavy sacrifices and migration. Some of them migrated within the perimeter of the Arabs while some migrated to Non-Arab areas. This was actually in consonance with the message of the last sermon emphasizing upon the present to communicate to the absent. Among whom was one, Sanan bin Salma along with other companions during the caliphate of Hazrat Maawiya(R.A) in the year 44th Hira after conquering makran, entered into Peshawar through routes of D.I Khan, Bannu and Kohat and resultantly got martyred there. The tomb of whom still lie at Peshawar Chugharmati by the name Ashab Baba. The article focuses on the biography of Sanan bin Salma.

Translations of the Quran and Bible: An Analysis
KHAN, ABZAHIR

Tahir, Muhammad
Translation is one of the most common aspects of literature. According to Malcolm Cowley, Translation is an act that involves the re-creation of a work in another language for readers with a different background. You know the Greeks considered themselves the originators of worldly sciences. But they are nowhere in the history of the act of translation because they knew how to benefit themselves from their own language. They were not in the favor of paying attention to the non-Greeks. Yet they failed to survive their this temperament because with the domination of the Christianity, the translation of the Bible became an imperative matter because the Old Testament was in Hebreu and to translate in to Greek was a must. Consequently, the process of translating the Old Testament and the New Testament lasted and the teachings of the Bible were being translated in to different languages. Like the Jews, the Muslims also translated the Holy Qur'an in a huge number and it is very hard to specify number of these translations. The theme of this Article is a short evaluation of the Bible and the Holy Qur'an.

Infallibility of the Prophets: A Research Based Analysis
KHAN, ABZAHIR

Khan, ADIL
Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan
Tahir, Muhammad
Ali, Gulzar
Khan, MAJID
The Research is about the Infallibility of the prophets. Infallibility means Protections form sins. It is a basic belief of the Muslim Ummah that Prophets are saved and protected from sins. They are models for the human being and having a strong character throughout their lives. Qur’an has mentioned the infallibility of the prophets in details and showed that the prophets are innocent and they do not pay attention towards the sins and prohibited acts. A small minority of Muslim scholars have opined that the Prophets might have committed sins of an minor type called zalla, meaning ‘error’ or ‘lapse’, and give some example from their lives Adam, Noah, Abraham and Joseph, [peace be upon them]. Before elaborating their cases, it should be noted that even if we even attribute some errors to the Prophets, they errors are not sins in the meaning of disobedience to God’s Commandments. The Prophets cared to wait for Revelation when they had a question to judge. On rare occasions, however, it happened that they would exercise their own power of reasoning in order to give a judgment as they were the greatest of mujtahids (jurists of the highest rank who can infer laws from the principles established by the Qur’an and the Sunnah). They might sometimes have made mistakes in their judgments or decisions, but such mistakes, which were immediately corrected by God, can never be considered as sins.

No doubt, Islam is the religion of peace and tranquility. Its method of preaching is very much convincing and it is very much commonly believed that Islam is the natural voice and desire of each human being. So this is an undeniable reality that its effective preaching can establish a peaceful atmosphere on the earth. The people who are the torch bearers of preaching peace and tranquility are very much admired by Allah the Almighty. While on the contrary Allah dislikes those people who spread disturbance and create a mess in the environment. First of all such people are ordained by Allah to be brought round through preaching and convincing, but if they do not comply with, a different attitude has to be adopted against them .The Islamic Shari`ah tell us how can that procedure would be carried out against these people. Also how can that loss will be compensated and how the society shall be saved from such like effects caused by them? All questions like this and so many others, besides literal meanings of the terms, "Qisas" and “Muharaba” its kinds its terms and conditions, are to be discussed in the article under reference.

THE ISLAMIC POLITY OF ABDUL A’LA MAWDUDI
Hussain, Muzaffar
Jawaharlal Nehru University
New Delhi
Abdul A’la Mawdudi is an important exponent and interpreter of Islam. Mawdudi played important role in the expressions of several themes, which are very important in revivalist writings of Islam of the twentieth century. Like many revivalists of Islam, Mawdudi sought to present a programme for resuscitation of Muslims and for the removal of evils from world. His thought is premised on his understanding that the modern world with its specific principles and ideologies is the source of all evils and sufferings. His writings, which he derives from interpretation of Qur’an and other Islamic sources, are therefore in response to Western ideologies and provide an alternative to them. He seeks to present a reasoned critique of the modern world system particularly in its Western form and offers an alternative to it by presenting Islam as a system. This alternative, in his interpretation existed in the past in the form of the early Islamic state of the Prophet and the Caliphate. Therefore, his concern becomes that of reviving this early system of Islam. But, then his project is not of merely reviving the ideal Islamic past. It also involves modernisation of Islamic political thought to meet the challenges of the modern world. His writings reinterpret various Islamic principles so that they can be applied to modern setting. Driven by the concerns mentioned above, the writings of Sayyid Abdul Ala Mawdudi seek to provide an understanding of the modern world, its criticisms and an alternative. So his political thought- expressed in speeches and writings- present his understanding of modernity (particularly its ideologies), his understanding of Islam and finally his alternative to modernity, which is an Islamic system or polity. Mawdudi’s thought is an outcome of interpretation of Islam, which is consistent with the long tradition of Islamic thought and jurisprudence. This quest for alternative or revival makes Mawdudi offer a different understanding of Islam as an ideology and as a polity. In this regard, the paper seeks to map out the various aspects of Mawdudi’s political thought. It would explore the understanding of the modern world as reflected in his thought. The paper will present Mawdudi’s understanding of Islam as an alternative. Finally, the paper would explore Mawdudi’s process of change or revolution.

FAROOQ, FAYYAZ AHMAD

The progress and solidarity of any country depends upon its ideas, its social, economic and defending conditions. If a country is existed on its basic ideology and national perspective then it is safe from internal and external disunity. Running on the pavement of development, there justice is in abundance. There is bond of love and reliability between public and government and there are complete arrangements of material and spiritual needs of its civilians, then government erected upon solid and strong basis. There is no danger for its safety and solidarity and it is running on the pavement of progress and meeting with national cause. Pakistan is now facing a lot of basic problems at one time, in which social, economic and political problems are included. Along with terrorism, extremism, corruption, bribery, black marketing, lack of justice and basic human rights, growth of crimes, null or void politics, sectarianism, favoritism, nepotism, passive or illegal leadership, lack of correction and accountability of rulers and administrative machinery illegal use of authority and freedom of opinion are also included. It is memorable that to estimate the extremity of facing problems to Pakistan approaches of security good governance and economy are applied. But continuous external pressures, weak internal political process, factors affecting norms are ignored that's why unsuitable and wrong results are appeared. A lot of problems not only create due to lack of resources but mostly there main cause is bad governance .Many hardships do not appear nearly due to none practical institutions but constitutional articles are not acted upon because these articles are sources of automatic correction doing mechanisms. These are such problems which are necessary to analyses form every aspect and I shall do my best to analyses according to my abilities.

Misuse Of Words And Its Implementation In Islamic Law: A Case Study Of Zihar
AKHTER, NASEEM
MUNIR, ARSHAD
If husband says to his wife, "you are banned/prohibited to me, akin to my mother or sister, and or you are comparable to my mother or sister". If the intention of the husband by these words was not meant to divorce his wife, then this act is termed as Zihar in Islam, otherwise divorce. He would now be bound to expiate before having sex with his wife. Either of husband or wife can observe Zihar. Condition of Zihar is differnt for a woman than a man. She is bound to Zihar before marriage. However, a man is restricted to it after marriage. Such statement can be elaborated in the following way. If a woman compares, someone analogue to her brother or father and or, ask him to be her brother or father, and get married later on with him. In such situation she will have to pay atonement. In the same way if a man becomes committed to Zihar after marriage, he would be bound to pay atonement. Islam fixes the value of expiation equally by the offender either a male or a female. Islam commences society to Zihar to stop or restrict this offensive act. This article is an approach to comprehend the impact of words in the relationship of marriage in Islam.

Invitation Towards The Path Of Allah; Its Elements And Shari Status In The Light Of The Prophetic Teachings: An Analytical Study
Haqqani, Salih Ud Din
Being the caliph of Muhammad (S.A.W), it is ordained upon every Muslim to be committed to the preaching of Islam. Islam is a natural religion, to preach the true religion, it appeals to one's heart. If a person is serious to realize, he is sure to surrender before this truth. If he does not accept Islam, then again he becomes soft hearted in case of Dawah for they think that such truthful people should be supported on moral and humanitarian ground. It will show the success of Dawah if invitee is inclined to him in one way or other. Keeping in view the findings stated above, it is obvious that Dawah means preaching to Islam, that is to say, bringing people on the right path in the way of Muhammad (S.A.W) (i.e.) dawah means to present the teachings of Islam in such a well organized and dignified way that the addressee may accept it easily realizing that it is an honor for him. It will also be praiseworthy to mention a fact here that no other religion…revealed or unrevealed…can claim such a wonderful example of the principles and methodology of Dawah. In this study two elements of Dawah and its shar'i status were focused. The methodology was both quantitative and qualitative. The perception of Da-ee's moral, character, interest and invitees responses was evaluated, Quranic verses, Ahadith Nabavi (S.A.W) was consulted. The result shows that Dawa is but a natural phenomenon, which does influence invitees. The effect was great, where there the Da-ee was sincere, a role model, hardworking, authorized and the dawah was authentic. Maximum people responded positively.

Shari’ Status Of Moon Sighting In The Perspective Of Modern Technology: A Critical Review
Haqqani, Salih Ud Din
Chairman Department of Islamic Studies, Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan
The main Reason in the difference of opinions about moon sighting is that some of the scientists think that they can realize the existence of the crescent in the sky through observatory and other mathematical assessments or calculations. This has been very categorically clarified by the modern sciences. So why not we may benefit from this technology so that we may not be in dire need of producing witnesses for sighting the moon. It has therefore become very essential to clarify the “Shari status” of the use of modern technology in this regard. The article beforehand is aimed to prove that the creation of the moon is not sufficient for establishing the sighting of the moon but as a matter of fact witnessing the same with the naked eyes is required

Biruni's Contribution to the comparative study of Religion
Hadi, Md Ahsanul
university of dhaka
Abū al-Rayhān Muhammad ibn Ahmad al-Bīrūnī is a pioneer in the study of comparative religion. He born 5 September 973 in Kath of Khwarezm and died 13 December 1048 in Ghazni. This artical focuses Al-Biruni’s Contribution to Comparative Religion which is one of the outstanding achievement of his thought. Our study is informative and suggestive, especially based on his two famous books `kitab al-athar`(999) and `kitab al-hind`(1030). He wrote Kitab al-Athar mainly to satisfy his curiosity as to why different people used different cylindrical systems. And also clarify why certain nations preferred certain times and events for their festivals and commemoration days. In addition, this book pays great attention to festivals of various civilizations. On the other hand, Kitab al-Hind (1030) is based on his journey to Hind while Mahmud (998-1030) was setting up his political institutions in northern India. He provides in this book a detailed account of Indian life, religions, languages, and cultures and includes many observations on geography. Both Kitab al-Hind and Kitab al-Athar also include material on other religious communities, primarily the Jews, Christians, and Zoroastrians. Although Biruni’s knowledge of Hind’s civilization grew rapidly while he served Mahmud in northern India. Al-Biruni classifies Indian religions according to the religious outlooks found in Hindu texts or sayings of Hindu philosophers/theologians and in the attitudes of ordinary people in a popular context. He suggests five inportent elements to understand its people’s religious life. these are : the main Indian language (Sanskrit), major religious treatises, religious attitudes, their customs, and the Hindus’ attitudes toward others. Al-Biruni divides Hindus into an educated and an uneducated class. He describes the educated as monotheistic, believing that God is one, eternal, and omnipotent and eschewing all forms of idol worship. He recognizes that uneducated Hindus worshipped a multiplicity of idols yet points out that even some Muslims (such as the Jabiriyya) have adopted anthropomorphic concepts of God. He collected a lot of data about Buddhish cosmology from Abu Sahl `Abd al-Mun`im ibn `Ali ibn Nuh al-Tiflisi Zurqan, and Abu al-`Abbas al-Iranshahr. Biruni studied more about Zoroastrianism, Judaism, Hinduism, Christianity, Buddhism, Manichaeism Greek religion, Judaism, Christianity, Sabeans, Khawarizmians, Arabian paganism and Islam. He explain religions objectively and tried hard to understand them on their own terms. Biruni expresses his thought in three Methods. Phenomenological Method, Dialogical Method and Comparative Method. In order to those methods we have tried to express his religious view elaborately.

Madhhab in Islamic law and the dissemination of Sunni’s legal text
Sharif, Muhammad Junaid
Virtual University of Pakistan
Ijaz, Muhammad
Sheikh Zayed Islamic Center, University of the Punjab
The study aims to discuss the usage of the term “Madhhab” by the classical jurists to specify the opinions of a school of thought as well as the individual opinion in a specific case. The interpretation of the divine sources of Shariah the Quran and the Sunnah by the early jurists result towards the emergence of various schools of law. The emergence of two distinct schools ashab al-ray and ashab al-hadith during the 2nd century Hijri was the outcome of different approaches adopted by the classical jurists while interpreting the Quran and the Sunnah. The paper aims to discuss that during the life time of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) no school of thought was emerged in Islam. After the sad demise of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) in early period there were a number of personal schools out of these only four Hanafis, Malikis, Shafi’iis and Hanbalis could survive under the umbrella of Sunni schools of law. This paper intends to argue the use of reasoning in the development of fiqh doctrine caused the formation of rationalist schools (ashab al-ray). The teaching circles of early jurists in different cities of Islamic empire like Kufa, Basrah, Baghdad, Madinah and Damascus resulted towards the formation of personal schools later disseminated by their devoted pupils and the progression of legal text.

Terms Of Islamic Jurisprudence
Khan, Abzahir
Department of Islamic Studies, Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan (Pak)
For every knowledge and art, its principles play a pivotal role in understanding it. That’s why its rectors and leaders put some principles for their followers to understand that knowledge. Similarly Islamic jurists (fuqaha) also put some principles for learning of ilm-e-fiqh (jurisprudence). There are some sources from which Islamic jurists derive rules; some of them are those on which jurists have consensus while others are those on which they do not agree with each other at all. The main and pivotal source of Islamic jurisprudence is The Holy Book (Al-Quran) and the second one is Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad (SWW) and the third and fourth is Ijma (consensus of the opinions of jurists on an issue) and Qiyas (analogical deduction) respectively, which are based on Quran and Sunnah. These are those basic sources which are agreed by jurists. Some of sub-sources like istis’haab-ul-haal (presumption of continuity), sad-e-zara’e (blocking the means), istihsan (equity in Islamic law), masaalih-e-mursala (consideration of public interest), urf (custom), etc are also applicable among them but they do not agree in these sources. This article explains in detail these basic sources and sub-sources along with the basic differences among jurists with example.

Mawlana Shah Ahmad Noorani: His Role in the Restoration of Parliamentary Democracy in Pakistan, 1977-200
KHAN, ABZAHIR
Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan
Idrees, Muhammad
Hussain, Akhtar
Mawlana Shah Ahmad Noorani entered into Pakistani parliament, through general elections held in 1970. He always struggled for the democratization and Islamization of Pakistani society through constitutional means. On the demand of Mawlana Noorani, leaders of the United Democratic Front (UDF), Jam’iyyat ‘Ulama-I-Pakistan (JUP) and Tahrik-I-Istiqlal (TI) on January 10, 1977 formed the Pakistan National Alliance (PNA) against the illegal and undemocratic practices of the government. He stood against the martial law regime of General Ziaul Haq. During the Movement for Restoration of Democracy (MRD), Mawlana Noorani only voiced for the rehabilitation of the political parties, restoration of the judicial powers and finishing the military courts, elimination of the Martial law; and announcement of the election schedule. Through Mawlana’s efforts a new political alliance known as “Pakistan Awami Ittihad” (PAI) came into existence on October 5, 1988 consisting of JUP, PML and TI. In May 1999, another electoral alliance was made with the name of Islami Jamhuri Mahaz, where too, Mawlana played a constructive role. For the purpose of sectarian harmony Milli Yakjehti Council was formed in 1995, which was headed by Mawlana Noorani. At the advice of Mawlana Noorani, a new alliance of six religious, political parties, named as the Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal (MMA), came into being in 2001. Mawlana Noorani was unanimously chosen as its President. He remained the President of the MMA till his death. The MMA struggled collectively for the establishment of a true Islamic democratic system in Pakistan.

Attentive Muslim Reflections On Orientalists’ Conception Of Sīra
Hussain, Ghulam

Abdul Wali Khan university Mardan
There has been a chronic tendency among the various religious researchers to highlight pros of their own religious founders and neglect the veracity of others. Particularly, this approach and phenomenon has been perpetually observed during the last fourteen years history of Judo-Christian antagonism against Islam and Prophet of Islam. In this background the Sira of Prophet of Islam has obtained extraordinary attraction and became a spotlight not only in Muslim intellectuals but in Western literary circles as well. However, Muslim scholars have always been vigilant and attentive in responding and evaluating the absurdities propagated by Orientalists. In this paper an exclusive study has been focused in reference to highlight the paramount contribution of Muslim researchers and historiographers in the field of research in Sira Studies.

A Research Study of the Principles of “Uloom E Hadith” of Selected Books of Imam Muhammad Al Shaibani
KHAN, ASADULLAH
Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan
TAHIR2, MUHAMMAD
Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan
Uloom e hadith", holds a great place In Islamic Studies and Islamic epistemology, and different scholars have served in the field of "Uloom e Hadith". Hundreds of books have been written on different perspectives of the "Uloom e Hadith ", but there is still a lot of scope to be researched in this field. One of the major remarkable scholar in the field of compilation of "Uloom e Hadith" is Imam Muhammad bin Hasan Shaibani (189 A.H.). Imam Muhammad has contributed a valuable repository of books on the elementary fields of Islamic studies. Many books of Imam's writings have also been published. In one of his most famous book "Mabsoot", which is also known as "Al-Asal", the number of hadiths cited is sixteen hundred and thirty-two (1632). And "Uloom e Hadith" plays a main role in his research work. In another book of Imam Muhammad; “Al-Hujja Ala Ahle Madinah” there is a rational discussion of the Hanafia and Malikia schools of thoughts. In another book “al-Asaar”, he mentions the hadiths cited by Imam Abu Hanifa and other scholars. And in his famous book "Muatta Imam Muhammad", he collected the hadiths quoted from Imam Malik. But his significant contribution on “Uloom e Hadith”, is scattered in his books but had never been compiled or researched. Which is essential to be compiled according to modern research formats. In the proposed thesis, the above-mentioned books of Imam Muhammad will be studied and the content of “Uloom e Hadith” will be compiled and researched, along with the explanations of Imam Muhammad's commentary and the terminologies of other scholars will be comparatively explained.

The Message of Allah (Quran) is error free from all type of mistakes Poth wordily, literally because Allah has taken the responsibility of the protection of it. Allah has produced a chain of scholars (Mofassreen) for the protection of meaning of the Holy Quran. These scholars have explained the meaning of every aspect and angle of the Holy Quran in different languages of the world in a dignified manner. By the grace of Allah and due to the hard work and sincere efforts of these scholars the tafsir of Holy Quran is present in its original condition. In this matter the efforts of Muhammad Sharif Ullah is worth mentioning, especially his tafseer "AL BDEE FI MAARAFAT-E-MAANI KALAAM RABBANA SAMEE" is short but contain precise and precious points, is the master piece of literature and knowledge. In Pakistan and particular in the Punjab province he is the personality who follow the Hanafi school of thought setting aside the conflicts, with strong arguments served the Quran and Hadith for his life time. Below article is critical appreciation of mention Tafsir.

Analytical study of the interpretive services of selected scholars of Mardan district

When the religion of Islam came out of the borders of the Arabs and entered the land of non-Arab nations, so they also needed to understand the message of the Holy Quran. So they interpreted Holy Quran into their languages. Because the Holy Quran is the first source of the law in Islam. It is not possible to comply with the provisions of the Holy Quran without understanding it۔ Due to these reasons many scholars translated and interpreted the Holy Quran into their own languages. District Mardan has of great importance to scholars and religious services, Here are experts in various sciences and arts, some of the interpreters of the Mardan are those who have earned reputation in the interpretation of the Holy Quran but they have not written any books in this art. And some are those who have written books in this art. Some of them have written books in Pashto language and some of them in Urdu language. In this article, some of these selected interpreters and their services will be reviewed. The reason for selecting the commentaries of these three scholars is that our common tradition is to refer to the commentaries of scholars from Punjab, Sindh or India outside Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for the study of tafsir or preparation of teaching tafsir. The result is that the commentaries of the scholars of this region disappear after the expiration of an edition or the commentaries that have been published once end up rotting in libraries waiting for their readers. If there is no reader, then obviously the publisher will also perish. By getting acquainted with the methodology and features of these selected commentaries in the article under review, it is hoped that scholars in particular and the general public in general will be attracted to benefit from them

An analytical study of Criticism on Islam, Quran and prophet of islam by an Egyptian priest "Zakriya Butrus"

Department of Islamic studies, Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan
Islam is an eternal religion and it's marvel is, that it's sources will be safe till doomsday. Whosoever studies islam wholeheartedly, will embrace it. Other opponents of islam in general and Christians in particular are against this acceptance of Islam. Because of this they constantly criticize Quran, Islam and prophet of Islam in different ways. Zakriya Butrus is one of them who is a coptic priest. He is still alive. Zakriya Butrus represents Islam and Christianity comparatively and criticizes Islam in a prejudiced and narrow minded way. For this, Zakriya Butrus uses two kinds of sources from Islamic literature. (1) He selects unauthentic book, So that he shows it as collective viewpoint of Muslims scholars to weaken the Islamic representation. (2) He gives priority to secondary sources upon primary sources in every subject, so that the reader takes secondary sources for primary sources and his mind becomes full of doubts. This Article is an analytical and epistemic study of those objections. This study will give a foundation to scholars to work on this subject in a detailed and critical manner, and to answer the questions of Christians in a scientific way and to make the muslim Ummah safe from these misleading ideologies.

Tafseer- ul- Hasan Al- Askari’s Introduction, authenticity and Methodology: A Scholarly Study

Department of Islamic studies, Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan
The Noble Quran is the fundamental source of Sharia and comprehensive and perfect code of life. For best understanding of teachings of the Quran, many Muslim scholars (Mufassireen) have been spent their lives in writing books of Tafseer and Usool e Tafseer on its interpretations and explanation. Tafseer al Hasan al Askari is a shia Hadith based exegesis of the Noble Quran from the 3rd/ 9th century. In this Tafseer some verses interpreted from the beginning of the Quran to the 282th verse of Quran ( Surat ul Baqara). The Tafseer starts with some hadiths about the merits of the Quran. Imam Hasan al Askari, according to the Shia school of thought, was the 11th Imam of Twelve after his father Ali al Hadi. He is generally known as Al Askari. According to some Shia sources he was poisoned at the age of 28 on the orders of the Abbasid caliph Al Mutamid and was buried in samara city . There are some Shia scholars, else Sunni scholars, who cast doubt on the authenticity of the book , while some others are the supporter of the authenticity of the book. They have tried to clear up the doubts about it authenticity. In the view of arguments presented by Sunni and Shia scholars the aforementioned Tafseer is not authenticated.

Islam is a comprehensive religion and way of life and has identified all the best ways of human life. Islam explained the rulings regarding both the rights of Allah and the rights of human beings (worshipers). Huqooq Allah means that Allah Almighty has bound His servants to certain matters۔Some of which have to be done and from some, we have to away ourselves. The First mentioned are called Awamer( commands) and the secondly mentioned are called Nawahi(prohibition) For example, accepting expressing Tawheed zaat (caste) and Sifat (attributes) and to avoid and keep away ourselves from Shirk. While the rights of worshipers are the rights that belong to the servants of God. Like someone's debt and fidelity that someone else has, so this is the right of the servant/person whenever he demands so let it be paid. Laws on rights and life and other matters were made in other religions before and after Islam. The following is a research study of Islam and Hinduism on the two laws of human life, will and trust (fidelity).

A Comparative Study of Research Methodology of Molana Said Suliman Nadvi and Molana Maududi on History of Arz-ul-QURAN

The part of land, which was given the name of barren land by the Holy QURAN due to infirtility, that land was spiritually, considered the most fertile place in the whole world. This land was centralized geographically as well as spiritually in the world. Hazrat Adam a.s, by constructing first building for the worship of ALLAH almighty, laid the foundation of civil engineering. On the contrary, Hazrat Ibrahim a.s wanted to flourish this land with the blood of his beloved son. Finally, this land reached to the apex of spiritual upliftment with the Holy blood of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of ALLAH be upon him). In its different corners, the Holy message of ALLAH was revealed, then it was named as Arz-ul-QURAN. In the Holy QURAN there is discussion about different tribes, cities and places of Arab but on this particular topic, since the emergance of Islam till twentieth century nothing was discussed. That’s why the people of west tried to prove through ancient monuments and archeological findings that these facts have no comparison with the Holy QURAN. Syed Sulaiman Nadvi and Syed Modudi were the pioneers, who got the privilege to write on the topic of Arz-ul-QURAN. Syed Sulaiman Nadvi in two volumes while Syed Modudi in one volume wrote the history of this land on the behalf of entire Muslim Ummah. The comparison of these two books is being discussed in this article.

WHAT IS TARJIH IN TAFSEER?
ULLAH, Dr. USMAN

AND Department of Islamic Studies, Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan
The Reader of several Interpretations of verses often stands on the different sayings in it. So It is impossible to distinguish between right and wrong sayings and the Reader does not know, how to choose the correct opinion within the various sayings in the different interpretations. For this purpose, the scholars have devised a priority, so that the book can be interpreted as true and well-known by means of the true and false. To be presented, the commentators have devised different rules and regulations of preference for the same purpose and desirable, and regularly presented the rules and regulations. Finally, in this discussion it will be clear what the priority is and then what is the priority of interpretation. What are its rules and regulations? Why we take precedence and its rules in the interpretation terms?

RECONQUESTA: THE MUSLIM-CHRISTIAN CONFLICT IN SPAIN
Khan, Adam Malik
Associate Professor, Department of Islamic Studies, Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh (202001), UP, INDIA
“Reconquesta” was the continuous struggle of the Christians of Spain against the Muslims throughout the Muslim rule there from 711 to 1492. In this struggle various dynasties of Northern Spain like Castile, Leon, Aragon, Navarre and others got united but also got support of the Christian rulers of France. Earlier they were not so powerful to drive the Muslims out the peninsula but later, with the passage of time, they strengthened their power and succeeded in establishing their rule especially in Northern part of Spain. As a result of their increasing power and civil wars among the Muslims Yusuf bin Tashfin, the ruler of North Africa had to come to Spain and establish the Murabit dynasty there after defeating the Christian forces. During the rule of the Muwahhids there these Christians again became very powerful that resulted in the conquest of Muslim dominant areas by their unified power. The Muslim glory in the country ended after the defeat of Muwahhid ruler, Muhammad al- Nasir in 1212 at Las Nawas de Tolsa by the joint army of the Christian states led by Alfonso VIII. After the downfall of Muwahhid rule there remained no Muslim control over Iberian Peninsula except at Granada and some petty Muslim principalities like Cordova, Murcia, Valencia and Seville. These Muslim principalities, after one another, went under the Christian control by 1260.The Nasrid rule remains in existence from 1232 till1492. Many rulers of Nasrid state tried their best to defend their territory and develop their dominant areas during their rule. Unfortunately these Nasrids proved to be very weak before the unified power of Castile and Aragon. As a result they had to pay tribute to Castile. The final blow to the Nasrid rule took place after the marriage of Ferdinand, the prince of Aragon and Isabella, the princes of Castile in 1469. The last Nasrid rulers could not resist before the continuous pressure and attacks of the unified power of Castile and Aragon and with this the Muslim rule over Spain finally came to an end.

British Colonialism in Qajarid Iran and its Impact on Islam and Muslim
Khan, Adam Malik
Associate Professor, Department of Islamic Studies, Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh (202001), UP
With the advent of Islam and Islamization of Iran, it remained united under the Pious, Umayyad and early Abbasid Caliphate. With the disintegration of the Muslim World many dynasties and petty principalities were established in Iran. Finally it got completely unified by the founder of the Safavid dynasty in 1501 under Shi’ism and Iran obtained a separate identity. This unification continued under Qajar (1779 – 1925), Pahlavid (1925 – 1979) and the modern rule, started in 1979, known as “Islamic Republic of Iran”. As it was the period of western colonization and various Muslim countries came under European powers, Iran also came under the influence of these foreign powers especially the British and the Russians. While the Qajars were ruling Iran these countries not only put their impact on it and its people but also interfered the affairs of the country, got various concession and exploited its resources. It’s worth mentioning that Britain always played a diplomatic role in Iran by signing treaties to get more and more concessions. On the other hand, Russia being a neighbour of Iran many times adopted the aggressive policy and conquered its various areas in Central Asia. Nasir al- Din Shah was able than others but the influence of Britain and Russia increased over Iran during his regime. It is worthy to mention that Britain, despite of disobeying the agreements at several times, got more concessions than Russia. The concessions included the construction of telegraph from London to India through Iran in 1870, the building of railways in 1872, the control over the mines in 1872, the establishment of Imperial Bank of Persia in 1889, the payments received from custom and excise duties, the monopoly over tobacco in 1890, the Oil concessions in 1901 and others. This may also be termed as “The British Imperialism” in Iran. These concessions and imperialism created unrest among the Iranians as they directly affected the people. As a result many movements started against the Qajars. The tobacco and the constitutional movements are of importance. Under the pressure of the constitutionalists an assembly called ‘Majlis’ was formed in 1906 having the representation of all sections of the society. This ‘Majlis’ not only curbed the powers of the then Qajari ruler, Muzaffar al- Din Shah but also passed the laws in the interest of the country. Though the constitution movement ended in 1910, it paved the way for the establishment of Pahlavid dynasty in 1925 and later for the Islamic revolution of 1979.

Emergence and Expansion of Islam: With Reference to Christian Muslim Relations in Early Centuries
Khan, Adam Malik
Associate Professor
Department of Islamic Studies
Aligrah Muslim University, UP
With the establishment of Islamic state Prophet Muhammad ﷺ wrote letters to various heads of the states and chiefs of the tribes and invited them to embrace Islam. The expansion of Islam especially in Christian world was started during the lifetime of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ himself that continued in later centuries. Under the pious caliphate the Christian land of Syria, Palestine, Egypt, North Africa, Azerbaijan, Armenia, parts of Asia Minor and some European islands came under Muslim control. In this period the Muslim navy was built, ending the Roman supremacy on sea. Expansion of Islamic world both in the East and the West was accomplished under Umayyad and Muslim armies attempted thrice to conquer Constantinople, the Byzantine capital. The consolidation of Muslim power was completed by Abd al- Malik by defeating and crushing the joint Roman and Berber army, further annexing North Africa. Along with Sindh and Central Asia, the Christian Spain was conquered and ruled for about eight centuries by various dynasties. The hostility between Abbasid and Byzantine was resumed by caliph al- Mahdi and continued till Mu’tasim. Many Byzantine areas of Asia Minor were invaded, and were also forced to pay tribute. Keeping in view the enmity with Umayyad of Spain the Abbasid established friendly relations with the Franks. Under Aghlabid Muslim rule was further expanded to Sicily, parts of Italy and many European Islands. In response of the Muslim supremacy over the Christians and due to the Muslim threat to the Byzantine Empire along with the other reasons the Christians of Europe united on the call of Pope Urban II and started crusade war in 1095 against the Muslims of the East. They conquered the various areas of the Arab East and established their Christian states there. In the Eight crusade wars fought on the Arab Land between the Muslims and Christians the later wars were either fruitless for the Christians or were in favour of the Muslims. The Zangid, the Ayyubid and the Mamluks proved to be the champions who not only defeated the crusaders but also re-conquered their lost areas. Finally these crusaders were driven out of the Arab land by the Mamluks in 1291 marking an end of Crusade wars.

Research Study of the Methodology of Kitab Ul Ayn by Imam Khalil Ibn Ahmad Al Farahidi
Ullah, Inayat
Lecturer in Islamic Studies, Nisar Shaheed Degree College, Risalpur Cantt, Nowshera (KP)
Kitab ul Ayn is the first Arabic language dictionary and one of the earliest known dictionaries of any language. It was compiled in the eighth century by Khalil ibn Ahmad al Farahidi. The letter ayn of the dictionary's title is regarded as phonetically the deepest letter in the Arabic alphabet and the first letter of the book therefore the book is title with Ayn. Al-Farahidi, who was from the Basra School, chose an unusual arrangement that does not follow the alphabetical order familiar today as the standard dictionary format. Al-Farahidi devised a phonetic system that followed the pattern of pronunciation of the Arabic alphabet. According to this system the order begins with the deepest letter in the throat, the letter (ayin), and ends with the last letter pronounced by the lips, that being (mim). Al-Farahidi introduces the dictionary with an outline of the phonetics of Arabic.[9] The format he adopted for the dictionary consisted of twenty-six books, a book for every letter, with weak letters combined as a single book; the number of chapters of each book accords with the number of radicals, with the weak radicals being listed last.

Reinforcing the Social Relation of Religious Ethics: An Islamic Perspective
Ahmed, Tanjeel
Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh
The term ethics (Ilm al Mu‘amala), the science of practical ethics or Akhlaq, is used by Al-Ghazzali in his book ethico-religious system. Ethics involves assessing what is valuable and why? Ethics is a branch of philosophy that used to study ideal human behavior and ideal ways of being. The primary objective of this paper is to highlight and pinpoint the significance of social relation and social welfare in Islam. Society is a group of people involved in persistent social interaction, sharing the same geographical or social territories. Like in India, it has large numbers of multi-cultural societies in the world. India is the epitome of the pluralism and it has the largest number of people of different caste, color, creed, and they live together. But nowadays, there are a huge existence of the Social injustice, Social inequality, and also social Issues in all over the world. Social responsibility is an ethical theory, in which individuals are accountable for fulfilling their civic duty; the actions of an individual must benefit for the whole of society. This paper intended the perspective of Islam in the social responsibilities. What should be the relation of Muslims towards the Non-Muslim and how should make the behavior with them. The Prophet Muhammad Said; “do not sever the ties with your relations even if they have severed them with you”. There may be morality without religion, but there has not been a religion without morality. The Topic depicts, the Islamic way to existing the peace and harmony by making the social relationships with different people of the different communities. Moral values that are inherent in society create a distinction between right or wrong. As the prophet Muhammad (PBUH) makes good relation with the Jews. Islam wants its adherent to be just too every human being (Al-Qur’an 5:2-8), which make the proper social structure of the society.

Concept of Veil for Women in Islam
Aziz, Khadija
Assistant Professor
Department of Islamiyat
SBB Women University Peshawar
Oppressed, inferior, and unequal – for many people, these are the first words that come to mind when thinking about women in Islam. These stereotypes confuse Islam with cultural practices and fail to recognize that Islam has empowered women with the most progressive rights since the 7th century. Qur’anic and hadith literature was used for the collection of authentic information about the proposed study. As it is stated in Quran “O Prophet! Tell your wives and your daughters and the women of the believers to draw their cloaks (veils) all over their bodies (i.e. screen themselves completely except the eyes or one eye to see the way). That will be better, that they should be known (as free respectable women) so as not to be annoyed. And Allah is Ever Oft‑Forgiving, Most Merciful.Similarly, wearing and bearing of veil in also encouraged in the teachings of the messenger of Allah. And say to the believing women that they cast down their gaze and guard their private parts and not display their ornaments except what appears thereof, and let them wear their head-coverings over their bosoms, and not display their ornaments. Based on the present study, it is evident that Allah (SWAT) commanded Muslim women to look differently from that of others, to keep their body covered, modest and to be recognized as pious, pure, and chaste

Albani’s Methodology in Textual Analysis of Hadith: An Analysis of Sheikh Shoaib Al-Arnaoot’s Criticism on Albani

Debate is that, Allama Shoaib (R.A) criticism (that Allama Albani not focus on three Hadith) is wrong. Because the translation of Hadith he presented as logic is basically called “Husn”. Not only Allama Albani (R.A) even other number of Scholars are agree on this. Allama Shoaib (R.A) completely denies the compliance of Tarjih-o-Tatbig that is incorrect. So to don’t any Sahih Hadith that oppose other Sahih Hadith is not good it. Tatbig-o-taufeeq possible on both Side. This is the rule of Scholars. Try to Tatbig-o-tuafiq in oppose Ahadith due to this rule Hafiz ibn-qasoem (R,A) narrate more 8 “Mulk” So the point of Allama Shoaib three (3) Ahadith is incorrect. Review comments on criticism (Made By Allama Shoaib on Albani R,A) in 3 Ahadith.

Tanzimat: A Brief Outlook of Secular Reforms in the Ottoman Empire
Ahmed, Aijaz
Department of Islamic Studies, Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh, 2020202, U.P., India
Sultan Mehmut’s reign ended with the beginning of the Tanzimat Era which was the second phase of Ottoman reforms. Tanzimat (Regulation) is the name given to the programmes of reform that were inaugurated in November 1839. The term Tanzimat is derived from the root meaning ‘order’. Tanzimatists wanted to recreate the state and to amalgamate East and West. Their aim was, first of all, to create a modern national army, then to use it to restore the power of central government over the provinces and to create a new frame of work of centralized administrative and secular laws. This paper aims to refute this misleading historical narrative by showing that, rather than implementing Shariah, the Ottoman Sultans were actually attempting to secularise their laws and state institutions. Secular reforms in the Ottoman Empire can be traced back to the 17th century. However, this paper focuses on the period of reformation better known as the Tanzimat (1839-1876). During this period customary and religious laws were either abolished or repealed in favor of secular European ones. This was done on the orders of the Sultan/Caliph himself and with the approval of the religious authorities. During this reform period, the Ottoman Sultans attempted to integrate non-Muslim communities and these communities were given equal rights and privileges

Abstract. It is mention in the Holy Quran, which is the sacred and religious book of the followers of Islam, is also an omnipotent total of principles and teachings covering all aspects of human life ‒social and non social, religious concepts aesthetic values, ethical and spiritual aspects of everyday lifestyle. It can be seen that it also comprises numerous rules on nature and environmental protection. This very paper aims to analyse some of the many ecological verses, i.e. the ones to create awareness and to educate people in the spirit of nature conservationIt is mention inthe Holy Quran, the sacred religious book, is also an omnipotent sum of principles and teachings covering all aspects of human life ‒social and religious concepts, ethical and spiritual conduct percepts, and on various aspects of everyday life. It can be seen that it also comprises numerous rules on nature and environmental protection. It is witnessed that there are about 750 verses (of 6236) refer to various aspects of nature, and to the relationship between, sustainability and responsibility towards its preservation for future generations. The research question which arose and is leading to the this paper was whether the Quranic verses comprise environmental teachings that address the various aspects of nature, the environment, and the interactions between humans and environmental components. The main theme of article highlights the eco-educational dimension of the Holy Quran by means of a qualitative investigation. This article deals with The ecological considerations on the rational use of natural resources, ethical interactions between man and nature, and therefore the rights of plants, animals and of the physical elements of the environment. In this research article , the use of Romanian translation of the Holy Quran, the online translation of the Quran are used. The sacred book of muslims,Holy Quran shows the nature as complete, complex and a whole system in itself, in which all the components are connected, linked, support and protect each other. Even if we see that one component is affected, the order and functioning of the entire system, i.e. nature, are disturbed. With this in regard we can see that, the Holy Quran has been promoting a holistic approach to the environment approximately 1300 years before the introduction of the academic concept of holism. The injunctions of the Holy Quran moulds the human behaviour so as to avoid excesses. This moderation and injunctions are often described through three principles found throughout its pages: the principles of unity, balance and responsibility. The important environmental teachings are obvious in the verses of the Holy Quran. In order to ensure human a healthy environment, all these teachings must be respected and put into practice on every level of lifestyle of every human. Toconclusion, we can say that the Prophet Mohammed could be considered a pioneer ofenvironmentalism, preservation, sustainable development and resource management.

ABSTRACT
Trafficking in human beings is a multifaceted criminal act involving deception, forced labour, and sexual exploitation. Human trafficking has become the fastest-growing criminal act for the purpose of sexual exploitation. The conceptualization of the trafficking problem is not fully understood without knowing this phenomenon deeply. This study explores the trafficking in human beings in light of human rights and Islam. This aims to examine the question of human trafficking in Islamic terms as a violation of human rights. It will be instigated to argue that the trafficking of people and forced prostitution are breaches of human rights. Most notably, the paper examines the Role of Islamic Law and Principles for Trafficking in People. It demonstrates how Islamic law and morals demand for the eradication of the slavery institution. The ban on the exploitation of people (in all its forms) and the refusal of tyranny and harshness are extremely relevant to today's trafficking crime. It can be utilized in Muslim communities to impose a public obligation to protect trafficked persons, especially women and children.

Education helps in preparing students for holistic development—contributing to the development of not only cognitive or practical skills of students but also plays a significant role in making them an embodiment of morality and good citizenship. It is now commonly accepted that values education is an important and essential ingredient of educations’ responsibilities to inculcating values in students. All the National Education Policy documents from 1947-2009 and the National Curriculum for Islamic Studies and Pakistan Studies, Grades IX-X, 2006, have focused on inculcating values to make students compassionate, caring, hard worker, honest, trustworthy and good citizens of Pakistan. The present qualitative study aimed to explore teachers’ beliefs about the inculcation of values in students of secondary schools. The basic qualitative research design was used. Ten secondary school teachers were purposively selected as participants from a district in Punjab by using the criterion sampling technique. In-depth semi-structured interviews were conducted for data collection. Qualitative content analysis was used to analyze interview data through NVivo 12 software. The findings of the study suggested that values education is a missing element in our education system. Teachers seemed to be dissatisfied with the curriculum, pedagogy, and continuous professional development training (CPD) in the field of values education. It is suggested that there should be a revision of policy, planning, and practices to enhance the priority for inculcating values to the students of secondary schools.

Dr Illama Muhammad Iqbal being a Sufi and national poet wrote about various ideologies, characteristics and human rights particularly focusing women rights. As a major part of his research and poetry is based on Islamic philosophy and seems inspired by different Sufis like Mansoor, Room I etc. His novel work of deriving analogies keeping in view the Islamic concepts and traditions unlike orthodox view. He was of the opinion that Islam is a universal and long-lasting religion so must fulfil current needs etc. To comply the existing requirements. While narrating the female/women rights he emphasized upon women rights much more than discussed ever before his era. As the condition of women in that age was pathetic, suppressed, subjugated and deprived. Those who favoured feminist movement criticised Islam as discriminatory religion showing partiality towards females. In such environment Iqbal depicted the clear picture of Islam and highlighted role, importance and rights of woman in Islam. Particularly in Zarb-i-kaleem, Javed Nama and Ramooz-i-bekhudi he focused such issues. He critically analysed the western concept and considered it in vogue. He never denied rights of females but demarcated her rights from that of males in Islamic perspective. This work is an endeavour to discuss rights and role of a Muslim women as per Iqbal's philosophy who was also in favour of liberty and equality but in prescribed parameters.

The Issue of the Testimony of Women in Islam, A Scholastical study, its Misdeems and Social Impacts
Mashwani, Ali Said
Department of Islamic Studies, Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan
Naeem, Muhammad
Department of Islamic Studies, Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan
This research has carried out to elaborate the status of women witness in various transactions as well as to explain misdeems over it and its social implications. The key aim of this article is to define evidence, women evidence’s status and analyze misdeems and its social impacts critically. Evidence means, “The information which used in a court of law tries to prove something through documents, objects or statements”. A witness is a person who testifies what he has seen of a matter or an event. The witness of women is justified by Quran, Hadith Consensus and even by Common sense. Judiciary is the milestone of peace alieving in society while witness is the back bone of every judicial system. Without witness never justice could be done nor can any right be proved or protected in the court of law. Therefore Islam has given the status of trust to witness and direct the witnesses to deliver it in the court with full honesty and integrity without fear and apprehension.
The women witness plays a pivotal role in all evidential proceedings. It is unanimously admissible in women related matter like: Menses, Delivery, Virginity, Pregnancy, Marital Status Chorale, Clearance of Womb etc. while in financial matters like Sale Purchase, Confession, Mortgage, Usurpation, Marriage, Divorce, Eddatt (Stay –at-home), Pedigree, Bequest, Attorneyship, Freedom of Salves, Inheritance, Reconciliation, Gift and Will, agreements are also admissible without gender discrimination with the condition that if she would hobble during evidence recording in court, would be associated and assisted by another woman to avoid hesitation.
According to Majority opinion in Fornication and Boundaries (Hadood) cases her evidence may not be accepted because in Hadood the accused creed the benefit of doubt while according to Imam Ibn -e -Hazam Zahiri, her witness is admissible in all transactions. Bases verse No. 282 of Surat-al-Baqara, the Orientalists misdeems and assertion that Islam has discriminated women while halting her witness half to men but it is their misconception because in Islamic point of view in women relating matters her sole witness is acceptable while in irrelevant matters she had given relief of exemption which does not mean her inferiority to men. It is just the variation of responsibilities. It is an universal truth that women are very abashed and do not like to see adultery or to be the witness of it. Therefore Islam has reduced her burden by exempting her evidentiary liability in fornication cases.

The Art of Maqamah: Its History, Evolution and Purposes
Nazar, Dr. Shabana
The Islamia University of Bahawalpur
Maqamah is an art of Arabic prose that appeared in the fourth century AH until the Modern Period. Badi' ul-Zaman Al-Hamazani is the innovator of this art in Arabic Literature. He was the first to name this art as ‘Maqamat’. Moreover, he compiled and arranged and matured it, and brought it out in an exquisite style that is attractive for other people. It is possible to say that the Maqamat is a prose text that combines the art of writing and poetry. The most important purposes of Maqamat are: Education, Humor, Preaching, Quibbles, Riddles, Tricks, Literary Criticism, Description and others. The Maqamah must have originated and thrived in the Abbasid Society, where other arts emerged in this era and new literary genres emerged. We find, over the ages, so many scholars and writers who increased their efforts in this arts have also spread it in the countries of the world, the East and the West, even in Foreign Literatures. The eminent Authors of the Maqamat after Al-Hamazani and Al-Hariri are: Ibn ul-Jawzi, Al-Safadi, Ibn ul-Wardi, Al-Khafaji and many others. From the West and Andalusia, Ibn Shaheed and Al-Sarqusti, and from the Modern Era Al-Yaziji and Muhammad Fikri Pasha and many others. This Paper sheds light on the art of Maqamah, its Introduction, its elements, important purposes, and especially its history and evolution for the facilitation of upcoming researchers. Investigating Principles of Narration and Acceptannce of Hadith by Hazeat Umar Farooq (RA)
jabeen, samina
m.phil scholar, department of islamic studies, allama iqbal open university islamabad
Chishti, Ali Asghar
Professor, Dean Faculty of Islamic Studies, AIOU Islamabad, Pakistan
The present study is aimed to trace out Asool e Rewayat for the acceptance of Hadith by Hazrat Umar (R.A). It has been found that The Hadith and Sunah of the Holy Prophet (P.B.U.H) is the source of Islam and is the practical representation of the Holy Quran. Sahaba (R.A) practically acted upon the teachings of the Holy Prophet P.B.U.H) with zeal and zest. After the death of the Holy Prophet (P.B.U.H) Khulfa eRashdeen adopted a very particular mode of attention for the delivery (Rewyat) of Hadith and promoted the culture of “usul e Istishad. In this way, the general things which wereexpected to become the part of “llm of Hadith” on name of “Rewyat” with the addition of word” the Holy Prophet said” were ended. As KhulfaeRashdeen emphasized on “Rewayat Bill Lafaz”.
The strong determination and consistency of the first caliph Hazrat Abu BakarSiddiquree (R.A) regarding the obedience and practice of Hadith and Sunah is admireable for Muslims. He (R.A) laid down the policy of “usaul e Istishad” for the delivery and acceptance of the Hadith. Hazrat Umar (R.A) introduced the rule of nomination of “Sahaba” for the teaching of Hadith. He (R.A) added such golden rules “Qawad e Hadith” for the guidance ofUlma e Hadith.

Mankind has practiced surgery as an effective medical intervention to treat and cure diseases and disorders since ancient times. In the contemporary world the application of surgery has expanded beyond treatment of disease, to perform physical alteration and beautification. This article seeks to analyses and present the legitimacy and validity of surgical practices in the light of shariah injunctions i.e. from Quran verses and hadith (sayings of Prophet Muhammad S.A.W). Based on our review of literature, we found that the legitimacy of surgical methods is contingent on the objective of the surgery which are (i) treatment or cure of disease, (ii) rectification of a physical disorder including organ transplant, (iii) physical ornamentation or beautification, and (iv) change of gender. We argue that while surgery performed to cure illness and rectify organ or body disorders are permissible - however surgeries pursuing ornamental alterations and discretionary changes to gender are frowned upon in Islam. We present a comprehensive analytical account of shariah injunction based Quran, Hadith and sunnah to back our argument posited in the research.

Tafseer Traditions of Hazrat Abdullah Bin Masood: A Comparative Study in the Light of Imam Tabarani ' s Maajim & Sihah-e-Sitta
Nawaz, Hafiz Rab
PhD Scholar, Department of Quran and Tafseer, Allama Iqbal Open University Islamabad, Pakistan
HussaiHussain, Dr. Sana Ullah
Chairman, Department of Quran and Tafsyr Studies, AIOU Islamabad, Pakistan
Quran is the primary source of Sharia (Islamic Law) and the key to success for entire humankind in this world and hereafter. Hadith is the written record of the sayings, actions and life of the holy Prophet (PBUH). Hadith, apart from being the secondary source of Sharia, also provides the theoretical and practical explanation of the teachings of the Quran. Therefore, the importance of Hadith for understanding and interpreting the Quran cannot be overemphasized. The scholars of Hadith (Muhaddithein) have compiled the Hadith in different styles, keeping in view their different objectives, since the beginning of the compilation of Hadith. There have been a number of famous Muhaddithein who are highly respected and regarded for their work. Among them is Imam Tbarani, one of the greatest scholars, who compiled many valuable collections of Hadith. His three famous books, known as Ma’ajam-e-Salasah contain a huge collection of about 31,449 Ahadith and Aasar. Around 1,200 of these Ahadith are related to the exposition of the Quran, out of which around 171 are narrated by Abdullah Bin Masood (RA), who was one of the greatest companions of the Prophet (PBUH). In this research paper, the aforementioned 171 narrations by Abdullah Bin Masood (RA) have been analyzed and compared with his narrations found in Saha-Sitta (six fundamental books of Hadith). Many of these 171 narrations are also found in other books of Hadith are some of them are helpful in understanding the similar narrations found in other books.

Hagia Sophia: A Study of its Historical Perspectives, Architectural Structure and Geographical Importance
Ahmed, Aijaz

Ahmad, Mumin
Research Shcolar, Deparmtnent of Islamic Studies, Aligarh Muslim Univeristy, Aligarh, India
The Hagia Sophia has always been regarded as a symbol of medieval Christian mysticism. During Byzantine and Ottoman history, the structure served as the Imperial Church and Mosque respectively. Emperors were crowned there, victories were celebrated, and later Ottoman Sultans had performed their prayers inside it. For many centuries, the Hagia Sophia was considered possibly the largest monument in the world. Today, its dome is still accepted to hold this title of the most extensive in the world. The Hagia Sophia is one of the most important Byzantine structures ever built. It holds historical significance as a culminating feature of the Christian era Roman Empire and stands as a monument artistic, structural, and architectural achievement. Numerous architectural features like designing aspects, artistic flourishes, and calligraphy were hired in the building by the famous architects of the time. The mosaic on the central dome believed to be an image of Christ has an importance in the world’s calligraphy, which was also covered by gold. By the historical analysis of this study, it seems to be clear that Hagia Sophia’s construction , for the centralization of power under the Holy Roman emperor, was the supreme not only for the political power but also to perpetuate civic peace and religious propagation. Justinian is known as the early ruler of the Eastern Roman Empire who was responsible for his political and spiritual ambition. From the historical aspects, Hagia Sophia has served for the centuries as the landmark for both Orthodox Christians. Later, its impressions and significance were shifted to the dominant culture in the Turkish city. The Hagia Sophia played a vital role in Byzantine culture and politics of its first 900 years of existence.

As it is mentioned earlier, the origin of the disagreement according to the disincentives; atonement (Kefara) and Haddod are proved by sapience, not by analogy. For instance, the rak'ats of prayer; we cannot determine the wisdom of number of rak'ats of prayer based on analogy. Nonetheless that sapience is an offshoot, by sapience we can determine the wisdom of number of rak'ats of prayer. Those who are in favor of proving the atonement (Kefara) and Haddod on the basis of analogy say that analogy is an argument for the public, that is why acting based on analogy is obligatory. The preferred quote is related to the demos scholars because they say that atonement (Kafara) and Haddod are proven based analogy, there are reasons in this regard in the Qur'an, Sunnah, consensus and sapience

The Status of Compulsion on Nikah of a Minor Virgin: A Study in Light of Islamic Fiqh
Qanit, Fakhruddin
Faculty of Shariah
Ningarhar University, Afghanistan
Kamila, Ms.
Lecturer, Department of Tafseer, Faculty of Shairah, Nangarkhar Univeristy, Afghanistan
The rulings of Islamic Shaira are all-inclusive to the entire human life. It provides a practicable guideline in all horizons of human existence. The one integral part of life is marital attachment., which is why it is explained in rather detail in Islamic sources. Nikah is a deed of trust that is entertained between a male and female in view of specific conditions. It takes place with mutual understanding free from force and external pressure. As though this contract the mutual rights of both the parties are ensured so Islamic Sharia also considers the rights of guardians. The guardians of both the parties also reserve the right to challenge a marriage contract done against the status and honor of the family. Similarly according to some Islamic Juristis the guardians especially the father and grandfather of a minor girl can utilize the power of attorney by doing the Nikha of their minor. Now the questions arrive here that why this discretionary power has been given to guardians and what hidden wisdom lies behind this? In this research paper, this issue has been explained in rather detail by providing the documentary proofs from Islamic Jurisprudences.

Sahih al Bukhari holds a vital position in the classical six Hadith corpses. Its worth has attracted the Hadith scholars to write commentaries in different ages and regions. As a result, a number of commentaries of Sahih al Bukhari came into being, which is said to have been more than all over the commentaries of Hadith. Amongst these Ghunyat-ul-Qari is the most significant. It is a multi-voluminous Arabic work penned by Maulana Muhammad Abdul Khaliq Bajawari a prominent Pakhtoon scholar (1375-1387AH), from this big work the present thesis studies its Kitab Salat only. Its kitab Salat in itself is multi-voluminous and presents a vivacious matter on the subject. This study provides the reader a comprehensive account of the topics of the said chapter and methodology adopted by the learned writer alongside some of the essential information relevant to the science of Hadith. Muhammad Abdul Khaliq Bajawari the sophisticated Scholar died before the compilation of this commentary in 1982 AD .The work done by him remained incomplete in respect of research. There are twenty-five hundred pages in this commentary. In each page, there are forty and plus lines in some pages. Each page is 41cm lengthy and have 26cm width. There are twenty-three words in each line. The writer used to write in Nastaleeq which is apparent and readable. He used black ink while writing this commentary. The topic of the script consist of Hadith explanation. The writer used literary terminologies in quite good way, that’s why the readers of Hadith well not feel board while reading Ghunyatul Qari Sharha Sahih al Bukhari.

Motives, Trends, Modern Forms of Materialism and It’s Solution: An Analysis in the Light of Islamic Teachings
Raouf, Abdul
NUML-Islamabad
Saeed, Riaz Ahmad
Asst. Professor , Department of Islamic Studies
This paper tries to explain the essence of the concept of Materialism, by reviewing the definition and history, which at this time will review the opinions of Islam and different philosophers. It will point out modern trends of Materialism, its Motives, Modern forms and its solution especially. Association between materialism and life satisfaction is somewhat more complicated as it simply appears. People, usually, use their own set of standards in arriving at overall appraisals of their lives. Overall evaluation of life could be influenced by numerous factors such as religious affiliations, income, possessions, property, health, social support, attitudes, etc. The main thrust for this research has been the belief that materialism has adverse effects on a person's life, while religiosity and gratitude mediate relations between these two aspects of life. At the end of the analysis will be presented that how should a Muslim respond to the concept of materialism. It concludes with results and some proposals.

The Status of Woman in Islam and Buddhism: A Comparative Study
Fatima, Dr. Kulsoom
National University of Modern Languages, Islamabad.
Allah, the Lord of Glory, Created man and woman to run the system of life in the universe and demarcated their duties and rights individually. The issue of equality and reciprocity between man and woman has always been debated by social thinkers. Before Islam, at the age of ignorance, woman was a picture of helplessness and compulsion. But when the candle of Islam was lit, woman got the honorable position. Similarly, in pre-Buddhist India, since Hinduism was at its peak and at the time of the Brahmins, woman was in a state of cosmopolitanism. Gautama Buddha raised the voice of reform and laid down the rights and duties of women, but Gautama Buddha's sayings comprise dual opinions about woman. In this article, the status of woman as a daughter, mother, wife and widow has been compared in the context of Islam and Buddhism .Evidences prove that Islam has elevated the status of woman in all aspects , while in Buddhism there is divergence of opinion about the position of woman.

Post World War II, with the emergence of nation states – the need for development of Islamic economics as an academic discipline, and thereby politico-economic institutionalization emerged. This can primarily be attributed to the socio-political will of the polity to form economic system both for public and private finances which are aligned with their religious aspirations. Notwithstanding, Islam has long been criticized of impeding growth and economic development by the advocates of modernist capitalism (most prominently Weber). Furthermore, the development of Islamic economics discipline has also been criticized for being a rushed measure to Islamize knowledge resulting in an incoherent co-optation of the capitalistic economic system. In this pretext, this paper seeks to present a comprehensive account of the scholarly criticism and subsequent rebuttal posited around the conceptualization of Islamic economics. We explore the ontological and epistemological foundations of Islamic economics, to explicate the role of ‘actors’ and the ‘mould’ as delineated by the ‘Maqasid-e-shariah’- to contextualize the Islamic world view of economic development and growth. The findings of this paper not only responds to the criticism levelled against Islam as anti-development, but also identifies the potential causes, rationale and context of such criticism. Gaps and future research directions are also identified to inform the stakeholders and scholarly research for coherent development of Islamic economics.

Allah Almighty, by His wisdom, has endowed man and beast with certain stimuli which motivate them to take necessary actions for the protection of their species and for the survival of the race. Islam takes into account the basic traits of human nature and caters to them in lawful ways. Among these natural stimuli is sexual stimulation. Of course, sexual desire is a great source of human strength and the best way to fulfill it is through marriage. Marriage is an individual, cultural and natural need that has been recognized by all the societies of the world. However, in the Quran and Sunnah, at the same time, it has been declared a religious and moral necessity, and instead, it has been commanded to be fulfilled. In the Holy Quran, it has been declared the Sunnah of the Prophets. If a person tries to turn away from natural things like marriage, then he faces dangerous consequences. Without marriage, the whole family and social system become chaotic. In order to be mentally healthy, it is necessary to strike a balance between spirituality and materialism, and for this, it is essential that man fulfills his spiritual, physical and psychological needs in moderation. Allah has made the blessed personality of the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) an excellent example of a perfect human being. Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) has fulfilled the physical, Psychological, and spiritual requirements with perfect balance for the perfection of personality.

Islam's collective system of justice is based on equality and cooperation. Economy is of great importance in this system. That is why the regular rules and regulations for it have been beautifully mentioned in the Qur'an and Sunnah. Economists in the Muslim Periods have done much to promote the economic system based on these sharia principles. A beautiful aspect of this Islamic economic system is that Islamic banking is very important. Muslims have sincerely strived for its development, promotion and strengthening. Muslims face many difficulties in its evolutionary journey. These include the absence of the Central World Islamic Bank, the inappropriate attitude of some religious leaders, the non-cooperation of government agencies, the dual system of banks, unfamiliarity with Sharia in the business and business community, lack of good credit, discouragement, modern technicality in Islamic bankers. Lack of requirements, lack of skills, difficulties in implementing Mashraqa and Mudaraba, misunderstandings, lack of public awareness and lack of trained staff are notable. There is a need for a scientific analysis of the Challenges facing Islamic banks and their solutions. This article is written to meet this scientific need.

A scholarly review of the Methodology of Ashraf Ali Thanvi in “Tafseer Bayan-ul- Quran” تفسیربیان القرآن میں اشرف علی تھانویؒ کامنہج: ایک تحقیقی جائزہ
Kamran, Malak Shahid
PhD Scholar, Department of Isalmic Studies, AWKU Mardan, Pakistan
Allah has sent down the Holy Quran for the complete guidance of mankind. To understand the meanings of Quran, the science of tafsir was introduced. It is the science through which Quran is understood, its meanings are explained, and its rulings and wisdom are derived. The Holy Quran has been revealed in Arabic language. At the time of revelation, the mother language of those people was Arabic, so no problem they faced in understanding the Holy Quran. If they faced any problem, they asked the prophet (SAW). So the science of tafsir started in the prophetic era, and the Holy prophet (SAW) is the first interpreter of the Holy Quran. Till the period of the companions and the successors, the interpretation of the Holy Quran was based on two sources i.e Tafsir e Quran bil Quran, Tafsir Quran bil Ahadith. And when they did not find a clear guidance from these two sources, they used Ijtihad. So, three sources of the interpretation of the Holy Quran came into being i.e Tafsir e Quran bil Quran, Tafsir e Quran bil Ahadith and Tafsir e Quran by the narrations of the Companions and Successors. When Islam spread in Non-Arab nations, then the Holy Quran was interpreted in different languages. Till now, large numbers of tafasir were compiled. Every tafsir has its own features and methodology. Among these one tafsir was compiled by a great scholar Asharaf Ali Thanvi. In this article methodology of Asharaf Ali Thanvi in his “Tafsir Bayanul-Quran” is reviewed in a scholarly manner.

Gender equality is regarded as a vital factor in shaping the overall wellbeing and growth of nation, country and society. A society consists of both male and female, where every person has the right to make decisions about well being, family and future. Family notions are regarded as the basic units for the establishment of prosperous society. A family with a stronger and better foundation will eventually lead to a successful society. If the women are given rights in decision making and give importance their suggestions in the light of the teachings of Islam, will eventually leads to a prosperous and peaceful sciety. Ushar O Khiraj are important link in the Islamic economic system. Many internal, external, defence and operational systems have been established because of them. For the expansion of economic system more and more and for public welfare Islam has fixed certain shares in the rich people’s wealth. In property trade, that fixed share is called zakat and the fixed amount imposed on land production is known as tithe (Ushar). Now these questions arise: Which lands are decimated by Islam and which are deported? What is the basic difference between decimal and expropriated lands? What was the nature of the land of Hind before independence? And what enlightenment do we get from the Qur’an, sunnah the interaction of the companions and ijtihads of the jurists of the ummah in connection with Ushar o khiraj? This article seeks to provide comprehensive and reasoned answers to these questions.

A critical study of “Muhammad and his Power” by “P De Lacy Johnstone”

The objective of this article is to draw the general public's notice to P De Lacy Johnstone’s book "Muhammad and His Power." He addressed a number of criticisms leveled towards Muhammad (PBUH). A specific school of thought is preaching this enmity toward Islam under the misleading appearance of hypocrisy, alluding to the well-being and benefit of the people. They are executing their annoying work in a cryptic, covert, and crafty manner, since they are mistaken by the public for educated and modern religious experts with the expertise and solutions to the age's issues. This article analyses Johnstone’s (1901) allegations against the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). The focus is to answer main three allegations he has put on the Holy Prophet (PBUH) from the perspective of the Holy Quran and Sunnah. In these allegations, Johnston states that during the first ten years the Prophet Muhammad did not oppose “Kufar and Shirk”; an indication of likeness towards evil. Secondly, the Prophet married Hazrat Khadija (RA) without the consent of her father. Thirdly, he (PBUH) is not the founder of Islam rather it is a distorted form of Christianity and Judaism. These allegations have been concocted mere on heresy or citing inauthentic sources. This article refutes these allegations using authentic sources of the time and also excerpts from the Holy Quran and the Sunnah. This awful tumult could not penetrate the brains of ordinary people because they are unaware of Muhammd's Seera. It is thanks to the savants of Islam's ceaseless and unrelenting battles and strives that this horrible tumult could not reach the minds of ordinary people. The qualitative analysis of anti-Islamic actions is done using the subject-focused research approach.

Almost everyone frequently has questions regarding how the world came into being, the stages of the earth's genesis, the emergence of light and darkness, and the existence of both living and non-living things. In other words, considering the many facets of Nature is a fundamental feature of human nature. The theological review will be provided here with consideration for the human need to learn about nature. We have talked about these characteristics of the universe from both a religious and scientific standpoint. The focus of the current article is on the details of the universe's creation, the way it works, and the origin of life that are detailed in the Holy Quran and the Bible. Furthermore, a comparison of the religious claims with scientific explanations, such as the Big Bang and other related occurrences, has been offered. Therefore, it is obvious that none of the modern studies and discoveries can be taken to be the actual goal of the Qur'an, as modern scholars have stated. Similarly, contrary to what some conservative scholars have said, these discoveries do not violate the Holy Qur'an. The truth is that the Qur'an is quiet on these topics and does not address them. If a fact is established via trials or observations, it cannot be seen as in conflict with the Qur'an, and it should not be attempted to impose unproven realities on the Qur'an through imaginative interpretations.

Islam promotes good health and fitness and encourages both men and women to engage in physical activity to maintain healthy lifestyles. Sports and recreation that bring relief to the body and soul are not only permissible in Islam but also desirable for all, without any kind of gender discrimination. However, Islam limits how sport can be practiced, such as Muslim women are not permitted to participate in mixed-gender sports. Numerous Muslim women have been barred from or have felt unfit to participate in sports due to religious misinterpretations or just a lack of awareness about the legal status of women's participation in sports. This research paper references the Holy Qur'an and Hadith as evidence for the importance of exercise and fitness for all including women. A historical overview shows that women's participation in sports has evolved differently in various regions and countries. There is a lot of literature concerning female participation in sports for leisure, but there is little material concerning Muslim women's participation in sports. Sport is, generally, considered a man-oriented and man-dominated activity in Muslim countries. The purpose of this research is to describe the various facets of the situation. For a long time, Muslim Female athletes have been unable to compete at the national and international levels due to a variety of socio-cultural, religious, economic, physical, and psychological barriers. But as of recent studies, Muslim women have achieved outstanding results at the national and international level despite limitations and constraints. This study will examine the engagement, constraints, and perceived limits of women of Muslim countries in physical activities. Additionally, the paper will explore the sports performance of Muslim women of countries aimed at encouraging women to engage in sports. In the end, recommendations will be given to improve the scenario of female participation in sports following Shariah.

Efficient financial intermediation in an economy solicits flows of surplus funds between the surplus and deficit agents to finance production and manufacturing, create employment, and promote economic welfare in a society. This research reviews the Istisna'a contract (or Islamic Manufacture Financing Contract) Arabic (الإستصناع) in terms of their application in the contemporary Islamic finance to finance the short and long-term capital needs manufacturers. In doing so, we also articulate the shariah injunctions, risk and rewards proposition, and other related economic implications of Istisna contract. The study draws on a descriptive approach to present a clear understanding of as a shariah-based contract and as a financing arrangement orchestrated in the modern institutionalization of Islamic finance intermediation. We present a coherent exposition that delineate Istisna contract along three key dimensions i.e. (i) the terms and conditions that defines the legitimacy and validity, (ii) the key features that distinguishes Istisna contract from other financing forms in present day Islamic banks e.g. Salam, and (iii) the operating methods and procedures adapted to finance borrowers in adherence with this contract. This paper addresses a crucial dimension that can accelerate growth of Islamic finance as mode of financial intermediation acknowledging the significance of Istisna contract in driving industrial and production investments carried out by Islamic financial institutions, the diverse questions arising around its legitimacy, and its authenticity, and the risk exposures undertaken by the banks.

Post-Islamic Revolution Constitutional Complexity for Functioning of Bureaucracy in the Islamic Republic of Iran
Abbas Shah, Syed Raheem
PhD Scholar in Political Science, The Islamia University of Bahawalpur
Bukhari, Dr. Mussawar Hussain
Associate Professor, Department of Political Science, The Islamia University of Bahawalpur
Iranian Constitution combines both concepts; theocracy and democracy where theocracy has been applied in the form of Khumeni’s model of vilayat-e-faqih (Guardianship of the Islamic Jurist) as defined in the preamble of constitution whereas; presidential system has been mounted as per the democratic standards. However, complexity exhibits when usage of bureaucratic authority becomes a question mark in between the directions issued by the government or vilayat-e-faqih. As Iran is a unitary state where centralized political system exists, bureaucracy should follow the directions of democratic government as per the universal standards of democracy. However, 8th section (from article 107 to article 112) of the Iranian constitution overlaps not only entire political setup of Iran by the strict jurisdiction of vilayat-e-faqih (also called Supreme Leader) but this section also projects the dogmatically authoritarian nature of Iranian political culture. Similarly, article 150 of Iranian constitution delivers mandate to Revolutionary Guards for not only observing governmental directions / orders to the bureaucracy but they also have an authority to mold bureaucratic functioning as per the directions given by the Supreme leader. Therefore, core idea of this study is to comprehensively define such constitutional complexity for functioning of bureaucracy in Iran. In addition with, this study also tries to investigate the pros and cons of 8th section and article 150 in the Iranian political system whereas; threats to the unitary state system of Iran because of such complexity are being examined in the last.

Islamic law has many sources, the second source is Al- Sunnah. Preoccupation with hadith and its sciences and categorizing in it is one of the best deeds in the sight of Allah Almighty. The scholars have served the Sunnah like serving the Qur’an. Many scholars of Hadith have compiled many books of the Sunnah, Such as the books of al-Sihaah, almasaneed, aljwame, and almaajem, etc. One of the most important in these books of Hadith is “Ma'ajem, especially Al-Mujamul- Awsat by “Imam Ahmad bin Suleiman Al Tabarani" who is famous scholar of Hdith. He was born in Palestine on 260 Hijra and was died on 360 Hijra. In this book, he arranged the Hadiths on the names of his teachers, arranged according to the letters of the lexicon. Al-Tabarani did not limit himself to the narration of a certain number of hadiths for each of his sheikhs, It may increase or decrease, according to his narration from this Sheikh. .In this research paper, the rank of teachers of Imam Al Tabarani in his book “Al-Mujamul- Awsat” is discussed. Some teachers of them are trustworthy and some are weak, but weaks are more than trusted.

Islam is a complete code of conduct that applies to every aspect of human life. This also owns and accepts those man-made norms that assist humanity's cause while avoiding its fundamentals. Adherence to Pakistani traffic rules falls under the same doctrine's umbrella. It is important to highlight that the same traffic laws, such as seatbelt fastening, proper use of indicators, speed management, and so on, have been devised to ensure the safety of everyone, from pedestrians to riders of all vehicle classes. Any infringement of traffic laws is an indirect breach of Allah the Almighty's divine discipline. If there is any harm, injury, or death because of the infringement, it will be dealt with according to Islam's teachings. This study intends to emphasis the importance of following traffic laws, which is directly related to ground safety. Ultimately, this serves the primary goal of saving any valuable human life. If this is secured, the holy verse's aim will undoubtedly be realized.

Human Milk Banks and the Rules for Milk Siblings (Raḍā’)
Niazi, Dr.Samia Maqbool
Assistant Professor – Law , International Islamic University Islamabad- Pakistan

Human milk is an excellent diet for newborns because it supplies important nourishment while protecting them from sickness. A milk tie, or milk kinship, is formed when milk from a woman other than the child's mother is consumed. It is more important among the Muslim population due to religious beliefs and the concept of Marriage Prohibition. Children who get the milk of the same mom are therefore tied by milk as milk siblings, with the same barriers to marriage as if they were linked by birth. Since milk bank practice in Western nations contradicts Islamic doctrine of milk kinship, there is a possibility of overlapping progeny. As a result, current Muslim scholars debate the propriety of unlabeled donation and acceptance of human milk through milk banks. On the other hand, there is a significant need for mothers' milk in hospitals for neonates, particularly premature babies; the following study suggests a way to prepare a proper model of "milk banks" that is in accordance with Islamic law (Shariah) and, at the same time, to avoid more progeny problems.
